ELEA Membership Information
2001-2002 Membership Year

By the time you receive this issue of Views & Vision, those of you who are ELEA members for the current school year should also have received the annual Yearbook, as well as other complimentary items for members in several mailings. Membership is currently at 430 schools, centers and individuals, with our goal for this year being 450.

ELEA’s membership year runs from July 1—June 30 of each year, with membership applications accepted at any time during that period. Renewal notices are mailed in June to current members, and those returning their applications and dues after November 1 are not guaranteed of a listing in the yearbook.

Dues for the current year—July 1, 2001 through June 30, 2002, are $125.00 per school or center, which covers all employees as well as pastors and members of the sponsoring congregation, and $60.00 for individuals. Individuals are typically those who support the purpose of ELEA, but who are not currently employed by an ELCA school or early childhood center.

Although membership applications are automatically inserted in three yearly issues of Views & Vision, you need only return one per year. Also, extra yearbooks are available this year for purchase. Every member has received one complimentary copy, but additional copies are available for purchase for $10.00 from the ELEA National Office. Some directors and principals have requested this availability so they can share directories with office staff, keep an extra copy in their home office, etc.

The following members joined ELEA for the 2001-2002 membership year after the yearbook went to print, and should be added to your copy. There are several blank pages in the back of your yearbook for this purpose:

The summer issue of Views & Vision will contain membership applications for the 2002-2003 school year, in addition to current members receiving renewal notices in June. The ELEA National Board has voted to increase dues for the 2002-2003 year to $140.00 for schools and centers, and $70.00 for individuals. This increase will allow ELEA to hire a part-time office assistant/resource librarian to better serve members and to allow us to continue to increase services offered.
