Scholarships Available For “Alde With Altitude
ALDE, the
Association of Lutheran Development Executives, is a membership
organization serving nearly 1000 members from the United States
and Canada. Members are comprised of individuals serving in areas
of fundraising, public relations, marketing, communications, or as
administrators of diverse organizations such as colleges and
universities, social ministry organizations, elementary and high
schools, camping and outdoor ministries, congregations,
seminaries, judicatories, and Lutheran foundations. ALDE provides
education and training, as well as networking opportunities for
its members.
Phyllis Wiederhoeft, Executive Director of ALDE, and Gayle Denny,
Executive Director of ELEA, have been working to find ways that
the organizations can partner to serve ELEA member schools and
early childhood centers.
Fundraising and management issues are at the forefront of concerns
raised by school and center administrators, and ALDE is there to
help. Even if your school or center does not have a specific
staff person assigned to fundraising and public relations, and
even if your program is early childhood education and not
elementary grades, there are still many benefits of membership …
in particular, ALDE’s annual international conference.
“ALDE
With Altitude: Panning for Peak Performance” is the theme of the
February 25-28, 2005 Educational Conference to be held at the
Hyatt Regency Center in Denver, Colorado. Through a generous
grant from Thrivent and through ALDE itself, scholarships are
available to those who are new to development work (0-4 years).
School and center administrators with experience could also
qualify if they have not had much responsibility for fundraising
in the past.
