ELEA Employee Benefits Program Update

The ELEA Employee Benefits Program was established as a resource for school leaders who want to offer their employees affordable benefits.  We offer medical, dental, disability, vision, and student accident insurance.  To date, we have heard from many of you across the country, and while each school and situation is different, one common thread is the challenge of being able to fit decent benefits into increasingly stretched budgets.  We are always on the lookout for new plans that accommodate the need for affordable, but thorough coverage.  Our job is to listen to your situation and research the best carriers and plans in your area.

When we are able to connect you with a great plan, we give part of the proceeds back to the ELEA.  It’s a big country, and depending on where you live, we may not always be able to visit you in person.  However, we do try to go out of our way to make the process of finding and enrolling in new group plans as stress-free as possible.  We are always ready to assist you by phone, and you can reach us any time by fax or email.

Medical Benefits
We can currently offer quotes and policies for medical benefits in most states through Pacific Life and Annuity.  Pacific Life and Annuity has over fifty years experience working with employers large and small throughout the nation.  Three national provider networks give employees many doctors to choose from, and Pacific Life’s PPO plans allow for out of network coverage as well.  Instead of having only four or five plan designs to choose from, employers can build a custom plan design by choosing from different deductibles and coinsurance levels.  For example, the employer can choose from a 70, 80, or 90 percent coinsurance level (Pacific Life pays 80%, employee pays 20%).  Then that can be paired with a deductible that ranges anywhere from $250 to $2,500.  As long as you have at least two full-time employees who need coverage we can find the appropriate PPO plan for your needs.

National Dental through GE
Launched in fall of 2003, the ELEA national dental program through GE has given ELEA schools the opportunity to provide employees with rich indemnity dental benefits.  Through the plans, members may visit any dentist they wish without worrying about the restrictions of provider lists.  For more information, call NBIS for a brochure of plans and rates available in your area.

Group Disability
Disability coverage is an affordable and practical way for employers to offer employees income protection in the event that they become unable to work for any period of time.  Short and long term disability policies are available with very affordable rates to cover full time employees.

Student Accident Medical
Student Accident Medical insurance offers up to $500,000 annually in coverage for students and volunteers who are hurt during school sponsored events.  The policy takes care of paying for medical bills and eliminates the need for you to file claims that will raise the premium of your general liability policy.
