2004 Founders Grant Nominations
Do you know a teacher who in the
first three years of the teaching ministry in an ELCA elementary
or secondary school after receiving an undergraduate degree? Does
that new teacher have a loan in the amount of at least $1,000.00?
Is this new teacher able to show evidence of teaching
effectiveness, Christian influence and community impact?
If you know a new teacher that
fits this criteria they may be nominated for the Founders Grant.
The Founders Grant is awarded each year to 3 or 4 teachers in
their first three years of teaching in an ELCA school. The grant
is competitive with a selection committee of ELCA school leaders
making the final decision.
A packet of materials was
sent out in early November from the ELCA Division for Higher
Education and Schools detailing the process. This was sent to all
elementary and high school administrators. All necessary forms and
information will also be available on the Evangelical Lutheran
Church in America’s web site at
http://www.elca.org/dhes/schools.
