Kathleen Haworth, Principal of
Laurel Hall School,
Receives 2003 NSU-NAESP Scholarship
The National Association of
Elementary School Principals (NAESP) and Nova Southeastern
University are pleased to announce that Kathleen Haworth has been
awarded a full scholarship to Nova Southeastern to pursue her
doctoral work in education. The scholarship to Ms. Haworth and
three other principals was based on materials prepared by each
candidate with the selection being made by a committee or peers
and representatives of the two sponsoring organizations. All of
the candidates for this award were 2002 National Distinguished
Principals.
This new program initiated by Nova
Southeastern and the NAESP will lead to the national certification
of principal mentors. The national certification of principal
mentors is the first piece in a larger initiative between the two
organizations to build a cadre of principals who will mentor,
coach and network with new principals to help them succeed.
Ms. Haworth was awarded the
scholarship at the 82nd annual conference of the NAESP
in Anaheim, California on April 12, 2003.
