Early Childhood Center Accreditation

Accreditation of an early childhood center is an important benchmark in its history.  ELEA has developed an exciting new instrument that was officially launched in the summer of 2006, which replaced the previous “ELEA Early Childhood Program Certification” process.  Although there are a number of early childhood programs which were involved in the Certification process at the time that the new Accreditation document was made available that are being allowed to complete Certification, all early childhood centers who started Accreditation and purchased materials after July 1, 2006, are utilizing the new instrument.

Accreditation is a self-study process, culminating in an on-site visit by a team of early childhood educational professionals.  Upon completion of the site visit, a recommendation will be made by the visiting team to the Early Childhood Committee of the ELEA National Board, for full accreditation for a seven-year period if they deem all standards have been sufficiently met.

To begin the early childhood accreditation process, a center should contact the National ELEA Office at 800-500-7644 or email eleanational@cs.com to consult with ELEA’s Executive Director, Gayle Denny, and to purchase materials.

Elementary School Accreditation

Accreditation of an elementary school is an important benchmark in its history. ELEA offers a self study process which is based on national curriculum, leadership and teaching standards.  This process focuses on outcomes, rather than inputs, and is designed to best help your school be the best it can be.
